Why strictly doing cardio can limit your potential..

When it comes to wanting to lose weight or unwanted fat, most people look towards cardio (the treadmill, elliptical, or some other machine) as their problem solver.

*yawns as long as a 45 min steady state cardio session is*

Yes, cardio can help in losing overall body fat. Yes, cardio is good for your heart and lungs. But what if I told you doing the same thing all the time can place you in a plateau & stop you from making progress? A plateau in a fitness journey is stressful! I've been there. The human body is a master at adaptation. If you repeatedly do the same type of workouts the body will know and adjust to the stress. This is why we must confuse and challenge our body and muscles often. This will help us make continued progress. Plus, its fun doing things that are out of your comfort zone! It makes you feel good.

Now don't get me wrong, what you eat and how much water you intake is just as important. My main point is... the repeated impact of whatever you choose to do, and the same movement pattern/range of motion (ROM) can create muscle imbalances over time that can lead to a number of issues... as well as a plateau!! What science suggests is to implement a strength/resistance training program that can counter these effects.

I'm not saying go and lift heavy ass weight at 5am on a Monday. Just see what you can do to switch up your regimen! Women/men have came to me with little knowledge of all this and now see results on the regular! They also ENJOY going to the gym more.

If you need help just ask :) hope this was informative!
